Yes my husband's is one of those which was unreported and now I am left with three children struggling in life. Police concealed my husband's murder and cremated his body before I could get tickets to India and see him. The cause of death took 9 months and was not explained and everything was sub standard. I hate the Indian police for what they did to me and the children. My husband was such a beautiful husband and father. They cheated us. They humiliated me as a woman going to the police station. They are pigs.

Publishing houses & websites might do well to check the authenticity of the story before publishing the same.I find it impossible to believe that someone living in the US would venture beating up his wife, that too for dowry 5 -6 yrs after marriage. It might suit Muthumari & Jayanthi Natarajan, but does not auger well with most educated readers.US has some draconian laws against domestic violence & anyone who is aware of that wouldnt venture indulging in it.More than all that, if this woman can book her tickets to India & come back by herself, she very well could register a complaint with the local police.I have much more faith in the US legal & police system than I have in the Indian. For all the publishing houses who went to town with this story, all I can say is, it is time to grow up now!

Silence of J &K Judiciary over Tabinda Gani’s rape and murder case is not understood. Dr. Shah

The silence of Judiciary over Tabinda Gani’s rape and murder case is unbearable and injustice. The death sentence was awarded to a 30 year old man in Ghandi Nagar, East Dehli for a rape and murder of 8 year old girl who was on her way from school by the sessions court Delhi in 1998. The sentence was later on confirmed by a division bench of Delhi High Court. We are not demanding any thing new from the Judiciary of Jammu and Kashmir. This is the rarest of a rare case and the silence of Judiciary is not understood.
Tabinda Gani was a very bright student (distinction holder) and was like a growing bud of flower. She was killed in a most revolting manner on the 20th July, 2007 when the entire was offering Friday prayers and as such her helpless calls could not reach us. The innocent murder arouses intense and extreme indignation of the community. It was an act of extreme depravity. It was an act of extreme wickedness. It has shacked the entire state of Jammu and Kashmir. Public abhorrence of the crime needs a reflection through the courts verdict in the measure of punishment. The offenders who are menace to the civilized society should be mercilessly and inexorably punished in the severest terms. The judges who bear the sword of justice should not hesitate to use the sword with utmost severity to the full and to the end if the gravity of offence so demand.
It is worth while to mention the main offender Azhar Billa Mir is a nephew of Ex. MLA Gani Mir and this could be one of the reasons of silence of judiciary. We were having apprehensions that the political patronage can not be ruled out despite we have full faith on Indian Judiciary. If cases like Tabinda go unnoticed, it is unfortunate on the part of Executive as well as Judiciary of Jammu and Kashmir. Wounds are so deep, only death sentence to accused can heal them.
